- Role Overview
The position is to perform all metal finishing and panel beating through the use of welding
You will be responsible for putting the finishing touches to the appearance of our high-quality products
Duties & Key Responsibilities
- Grinds, files, or sand surfaces of customer products, using hand tools, power tools, with a knowledge of metal finishing techniques gained through the initial training program.
- Examine and feel surface of metal to detect defects, such as dents, scratches, or breaks in metal.
- Smooth surfaces of item to specified customer required finish, using hand tools, powered tools and knowledge of metal finishing techniques.
- Removes dents, using hammer and dolly block.
- Polish metal surface, using powered polishing wheel or belt.
- Correct and improve defects in cosmetic/skin pressed parts to a standard suitable for bright metal polishing.

- Quality is the concern of every employee & it is every employees duty to inform those responsible for production / quality if a product does not conform.
- Carryout hourly checks to make sure product meets customer specification.
Qualifications / Experience
- Experience of working within a factory environment, preferably automotive
- Experience of welding, metal finishing and panel beating
- City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in this field or time served in metal finishing/or panel beating
- Basic numerical and written skills to ensure that productivity can be reported and issues can be recorded for resolution.
- Able to understand cosmetic part requirements and appropriate methods of correction.
- Metal polishing skills and experience.
- A positive work focused attitude.
- Versatile and flexible ability to work on multiple jobs at once.
- Ability to work both alone and as part of a team.
- Able to work shifts (shift allowance available)
